is this tribe mainly fo salt water kayakers or is it for white water kayakers? I'm a novice white water kayaker. If this is the wrong place, please point me to a better place.

I started out as a "novice" white water Kayaker and thats where I will remain. I took a couple of days training on Pokhara Lake and then set off for the Seti River with my guide Nidge, he renamed me "Man In The Barrel" after noticing my total lack of finesse and skill. I dream on as a kayaker. I did to my credit try out Hydrospeeding which was great fun albeit a little painful when you hit something hard.

Is this tribe whitewater or sea? hmmmm, Im not sure.

I was in Pokhara last year and all I could do was dream about how great it would have been to have my sea kayak there with me! Lucky you that you got on the Seti!!!!! Too cool!!!

It was fun, I went with just my guide Nidge.

The highlight of the trip was the two villages we stopped at. The first village where we spent the night was really poor, no tea no sugar and really not very organised, their 4 wire supension bridge across the river only had 3 wires. Dinner was curried minnows and goat. Any kind of development assistance had totally passed these people by.

The second village was a total contrast, lots of agriculture and they were producing their own methane from animal manure, it was like a study in how to do things right.

I sometimes feel one gets a better view of the true Nepal from the river rather than the trail, Ive also rafted on the Kali Gandaki which was interesting to.

I never worried about that question.

I'm primarily a rec-paddler though I do the ocean once a year or so and have run a couple river races. Last race I did was 2 weeks ago. I came in last, partially because 20 minutes into the race I found people drifting in trouble at the first big rapids and spent a half hour pulling people and their boats out of the river. Spent the next couple hours taking my time and rescued a half dozen people in trouble which cost me place. But then, I went there for the t-shirt and not a trophy so it was worth it.

So, is this the wrong place, depends on what you want. Even in the hard-core Arizona W/W sites, I learn things and make friends.

now, tell me about your book? I've never even been able to kiss in a kayak w/o going overboard, much less do anything else.
