Whitewater helmets

I need a helmet. I spent a good bit of time talking with a Shredready person, but I wanted to know if anyone on tribe had advice.

plastic vs composite?
fit?
companies?

I would really like to at least try some on, but it is impossible to find a place close that sells more than just a plastic pro-tec helmet.

    From what I undestand, having a bill on the helmet can provide a much needed air pocket if you are trapped in the flow with your head close to the surface.

    I like the KLINK at the NRS.com site but a bit pricey for me.
