You can't rent them. You can't buy a worthwhile one for under 800 bucks.
I mostly have done ocean kayaking, but I am getting more and more into river. My sit-on-top and recreational models are fine for class I-II but after that you need a WW kayak or an inflatable. I'm not ready for the WW style (haven't learned the roll yet) but I'm sure I could take some class III-IV with an inflatable.
Comments, experience, suggestions?

Thu, June 23, 2005 - 12:26 PMI have limited but enthusiastic experience with Kayaks, all inflatable. My friend Sanskrit moderates the Kayak Aholics tribe and uses his inflatable on ocean and river alike. Maybe drop him a line.
